Dogfish Dash

The Dogfish Dash on Sunday, September 21, 2008, is a fantastically fun 5k/10k out-and-back race to support The Nature Conservancy. The course leaves downtown Rehoboth and winds along the Cape Henlopen State Park's Breakwater-Junction trail. Enjoy the views during the race, and then have a great time at the post-race party at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats. We'll have race awards, food, beer, raffle give-aways and lots of fun! All this... and you will be at the beach, supporting the great work of the Nature Conservancy. In 2007 the Dogfish Dash raised $10,000 for TNC-Delaware... help us raise even more money for protecting great places this year! Baltimore Ave. Block Party

Rehoboth Beach Block Party on Baltimore Avenue in downtown Rehoboth from 4-7 PM:  A fundraiser for the children of our area!  Enjoy fabulous food from numerous area fine restaurants, art show, live music, and kids games! AIDS Walk Delaware

It's time to gather your family, friends and co-workers to make Delaware a healthier place. HIV/AIDS is a 100% preventable disease. Together we can make a difference toward taking Delaware out of the top SIX states in the country for per capita HIV infection. To register, fill out the online form and you will be sent all the materials you need. You will also be assigned a staff liaison to help you with team recruitment and fundraising ideas.  This is a collaborative walk of over 40 agencies and churches.  Registration is at noon and the walk begins at 2 pm on a route throughout downtown and onto the boardwalk.  See more information or call 302-652-6776.

Hometown Christmas Parade

Monday evening along Rehoboth Avenue beginning at 6:30 p.m. A local tradition, the parade will feature more music, more costumes and more fun than ever, with volunteers from the Fire Department, Police, Public Works and community organizations. Dozens of local groups, bands and participants have already signed up. Line-up starts at 4:00 The parade begins at State Road, travels East to the Boardwalk and the turns West and goes back up to the Convention Center. Parade entrants are judged, with prizes awarded at the Christmas Party immediately following the parade at  Convention Hall. Youngsters can chat with Santa and light refreshments will be served. Groups and individuals wanting entry information should call the Hometown Parade voice mail at 302-441-8615 or e-mail rmillman@cityofrehoboth.com for an application.
